THE LORE
Bastet, the Feline Mother, is the goddess of fierce protection over those she claims as family. She embodies the contradiction of softness and sharpness, purring contentment and lethal claws, the instinct to nurture combined with the willingness to destroy anything that threatens her young. Her followers understand that love is not weakness, and that the fiercest warriors often have the gentlest hearts.
THE PALETTE
Jade and green cloth suggest the natural world where Bastet's creatures roam. Deep blues add depth and mystery, a reminder that even domesticated things retain wild edges. Gold metals warm the palette and speak to her association with the sun. Copper brings earthiness and the sense of a creature comfortable in multiple realms. The accent glows with rich amber-gold, the color of a cat's eye in firelight, protective and knowing.
THE CHRONICLE
...A mother sat with her children in a garden she had cultivated for years, watching them play among the flowers. When a stranger approached with bad intent, everything changed. Her form seemed to shift, become sharper, more dangerous, though her children would never have been harmed. The intruder felt claws he could not see and wisdom he could not comprehend. When he fled, she returned to her gentle posture, sitting among her young ones. Bastet never allowed her children to see the violence she could become to protect them. She simply ensured they felt, always, completely safe....
