Preview BG3 Dyes Before You Install
Choosing a dye in Baldur's Gate 3 used to mean scrolling through screenshots or installing the mod and hoping for the best. Not anymore.
The FaerunColors Viewer lets you preview any dye on 3D armor, right in your browser. Rotate the model, zoom in on the details, and see exactly how each color reacts on cloth, leather, and metal. No install required, no guessing.
What You Can Do
Load any of the 11 supported armor sets and apply dyes from the full FaerunColors catalog or the vanilla BG3 collection. The viewer renders the same material zones the game uses, so what you see here is what you get in-game.
There's also a custom color editor. Mix your own palette, see which existing dyes come closest to what you've put together, and share the result as a link. If nothing matches, you can send a free dye request straight from the viewer.
How It Works
The viewer runs on WebGL2 and loads real 3D models extracted from the game files. Each armor set has 15 independent color zones grouped into cloth, leather, and metal. When you pick a dye, the viewer maps its color data to those zones in real time. No pre-rendered images, no baked screenshots.
It works on desktop and mobile, in any modern browser. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari. If your device supports WebGL2, you're good to go.
Why It Exists
FaerunColors has over 120 dyes. That's a lot of options, and the most common feedback I got was that people didn't know which one to pick. Screenshots only show one angle, one armor, one lighting setup. I built this so you could actually compare them properly, on whatever armor you're wearing, from whatever angle you want.
